Messi is an honest player. Every player in the game would of gone down like that after being on the receiving end of that challenge for various obvious reasons.

Well you cant straighten your leg if a player comes directly at you just cuz ur studs must not make contact with another player. FL tried to take his foot back but was already too late since messi arrived late too.

I wouldn't say that was a red. Yes he has went up with a high foot, but he tried to pull back and correct himself, he just began the tackle in such an awkward way.

Cesar Delgado In situations like this it doesn't matter if you lead with your studs or not because contact will most likely happen and if you make contact with the player todays referees will give a red card even if you do get the ball or not. Momentum should be acknowledged because both players have it so there's nothing either of them can do about it, he's just getting punished for getting there sooner.

But considering that he made contact, and only he came in with his studs-up, it's a straight red card because HE PUT HIS OPPONENTS HEALTH AT RISK!!!

Cesar Delgado the ball was in the air so how else was he going to kick the ball without his studs becoming a risk at some point? If he used his laces the follow through would have meant his foot would be higher with the studs pointing towards the body, getting the ball the way he did was safer option but like i said in my previous comment the momentum of the other player meant contact was going to happen no matter what.

I'd say a yellow card for potentially being dangerous but he's not really leading with studs as in making a tackle with studs up, he's trying to bring the ball down, he wasn't flying into a tackle. You can even see him draw his leg away as Messi collides so I think it's potentially a yellow card for simulation as well because there wasn't even big contact as both players pulled their legs away and Messi rolls all the way off the pitch.

Not a red card he hit the ball frst them Messi. At the time of the impact he try to retrieve his leg but the force of the play was too quick. If any card it should be yellow

Enrique needs to pipe down. The referee is there for a reason, let him deal with it as he sees fit. Calling for a red isn't something that is needed.
